WHERE WE ENCOUNTER CHRIST

Jesus doesn't always answer us with a yes! In fact, He often protects us from ourselves with a no. The vision that the apostle Paul received came at a great cost and it pushed him to a breaking point that many of us have faced. There is no such thing as a thornless journey but only a journey full of hardships that lead to eternity. Is Jesus enough? Somewhere in our lives at one point in time we may have believed that He was. However, along the journey we may have believed that we not only need Him but that we need Him in addition to so much more. Paul writes a letter to Colossi and to Laodecia in order to stamp the preminence of Christ while simultaneously posing the question to all their hearts; is Jesus enough? Is your testimony that He is enough?! Praise God for your continued partnership with us here at Emmanuel Church where we encounter Christ! Jesus warns us in Matthew 23 to look beyond appearances and examine the condition of our hearts. True faith is not built on titles, recognition, or outward religion—it is marked by humility, godly character, and a life that follows Christ. In this message, we look at Jesus' warning against hypocrisy, the danger of spiritual pride, and His call to serve rather than seek positions of honor. While acknowledging the real hurt many have experienced within the church, this sermon reminds us not to lose sight of Christ, who remains the perfect Shepherd and the only true Teacher. If you've struggled with church hurt, forgiveness, or questions about authentic biblical leadership, this message points us back to Jesus and His Word. Watch the full sermon, be encouraged by the truth of Scripture, and allow the Lord to continue shaping your character for His glory. What happens when you pray, trust God, and the circumstance still does not change? In this message from Matthew 11 and Psalm 119, we look at John the Baptist’s struggle in prison and David’s declaration that affliction taught him the ways of God. Following Jesus does not guarantee that every difficult season will immediately disappear—but it does mean His grace will be sufficient to carry us through. Sometimes God changes the situation. Other times, He uses the situation to change us. This sermon challenges the false expectation that faith means a life without suffering, while reminding us that God is still good, His Word is still trustworthy, and our labor for Christ is never in vain. Watch the full message and be encouraged to take your doubts, burdens, and difficult circumstances back to the Word of God. Not Plan B ll Emmanuel Church ll Ernest Wright The church was never Plan B. The cross was never Plan B. In Ephesians 3, we are reminded that God’s eternal purpose has always been fulfilled through Jesus Christ. Through the gospel, God has made one body, rooted in His love, strengthened by His Spirit, and chosen to display His glory. We were never called to walk this faith alone. Galatians 6 calls the body of Christ to restore the fallen, go after the drifting, carry one another’s burdens, and keep sowing to the Spirit even when the work feels heavy. This sermon is a reminder that the church is a family, and in these days, we need to lock arms, stay faithful, and not grow weary in doing good.
